I’m Heike, the Research Technician in the Bahl group. My role is a mix of keeping things running smoothly and supporting research. In the lab, I take care of our zebrafish, help establish new techniques and contribute to a variety of projects using methods like HCR-FISH, photoactivation and two-photon imaging. I also work with the microscopes at our Bioimaging Center and generate and maintain new fish lines. Alongside this, I help organize the lab and take on safety responsibilities as a safety officer and first aid and fire safety helper. In my spare time, I like to travel, go hiking, do water sports, go skiing and garden. But as well as the countryside, I enjoy big city life, art and culture
